In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Pastor Tanner opened the doors of CMBC to other ministries needing a place to worship. He recently accepted an invitation for CMBC to act as a disaster relief center for “Operation Family Care” – an organization established to provide relief and rebuilding assistance through receipt and distribution of furniture to families affected by recent disasters.
Rev. Tanner says that God’s ultimate plan for his ministry is to pastor the precious, progressive people of God. To equip and empower them, and to prepare and perfect them for the second coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Rev. Tanner’s burden of ministry is being sure that he is continually pleasing to God. That God is pleased and satisfied with him and his efforts to seek and save the lost.
Rev. Tanner’s teachings and messages are motivating and emphasize righteousness and holiness as the prerequisites to releasing and realizing the blessings of God on one’s life. Additionally, his teachings are family, marriage, church, womanhood, manhood, faith, praise, prayer and worship focused.
